The Betty Ennis Foundation Website

Hello it has been a few days since I last posted I know I don’t post everyday and the reason for this is that I have been extremely busy. Recently I became the Website and Social Media Co-coordinator of a charity website which I have designed for a local nonprofit organisation. The Betty Ennis Website is LIVE
.

So instead of putting my stories up from now on I will be focusing on this and giving blogs on what I am up to in my life. You see having COPD has meant that I am in quarantine or grounded as some would say I cant leave the house at all and until this golden opportunity came up I was climbing the walls. My mental health had flat lined and my physical health is getting worse at this rate i will walk out of here as a fat blob which is what I don’t want. Don’t get me wrong I am still writing the series of books but the work will help me out and eventually lead to paid work. Now that is a good feeling to know eventually I can come off the benefits and work from home as well as continue on my books.

I am making my fruit juices and milkshakes from scratch think i might try a kitkat one soon sure not very good but I don’t like apple milkshakes i like apple juice and pear juice especially home made any way enough about me. I am very happy to see this took time to create and it is something I have been told is good although as I am not someone who holds a diploma not registered with a professional body I wont say it is a professional job but just hope it is good enough for others to visit and see what they can either help with or how to request help. There will be further developments and projects for the NPO I work for.

Unfortunately we are only able to help people who live in the Coventry United Kingdom area as we only started 4 months.

Stay home stay safe sunbathe in the garden.

This was a blog I worked on for The Betty Ennis Foundation today they work tirelessly for the community. SO that everyone in the community who needs the help gets the help they need and I have heard recently that they are there for mental health support just a friendly voice to talk to if someone in the community needs support. I am sharing their page in the hope they will start to get followers through wordpress I know you are all GREAT people on here. They are a small charity but who knows what the future will hold for them each day I will start or at least try to add more to the page.

Natural Home made Orange Juice

orange juice

When I first brought my nutri bullet I paid for a recipe book on Juices and smoothies but guess what I have never ever used it. When my child was little I made her strawberry milkshakes with the bits (seeds) and she loved it now she is older she loves banana milkshake or if I allow her Chocolate or Oreo milkshakes. I have always opted to do my own juice and shakes when I could and if I could because

A) it is cheaper
B) it is healthier for you than the shop brought ones.

Earlier I mentioned that I had made orange juice, see the above picture shop brought ones lose a lot of goodness due to the added additives and colourants, flavourings which is in some and the added sugar. Why use more sugar than is needed? in fact my juices and milkshakes contain two very simple easy to obtain ingredient’s one is Water plain ordinary tap water and the other is fruit, or if it is a milkshake then it is semi skimmed milk and fruit as i see that fruit has enough sugar in to make it sweet. Sometimes though I do like Banana and honey milkshake just to give it a little extra sweetness. But still honey is natural and you don’t need much but i will come to that another day. If you want a thicker shake why not try to add in porridge oats if you want it cold add ice cube or cold water rather than Ice cream even though I know it is tempting.

all I used for the Orange juice was:

1 large orange
200 mil water and then blended it together until it was a consistency that I liked .

It was super nice for first thing in the morning.

Home made Carrot Juice

WIN_20200416_18_33_37_Pro

Given the fact I am stuck in 3 months quarantine possibly longer as I have a good chance of ending up in intensive care if I come down with Sar-cov-2 aka Covid-19 aka Corona . Coupled with the fact I have always liked making my own juice and milkshakes due to all the chemicals in shop brought ones. Plus the fact I have been using different ways of boosting my Vitamin levels and my immunity yesterday i made home made orange juice mainly as i don’t have any banana’s in.

Besides old lady Victorianna in my books prefer’s natural and herbal remedies to the treatments for many of the illness’s and behavioural issues she often see’s with in the children home she owns and works in.

Today I made myself orange juice when I first woke up and about an hour ago I made a carrot juice. Which is shown in the picture if it is too thick then I add more water to thin it out.

3 carrots peeled and washed
100 mil water in the blender with the veg
Blend it for four or five minutes (until it is at a desired consistency) Pour into a glass and if needed top up with water.

Topping it with water will make the consistency thinner.

A personal project

I wont bog you down with hows and whys for that you can read the information on my other blog which is called Rhiannon’s wish. It is named after my daughter and designed to help people who need it first of all I will be creating bags for children to keep them occupied during the lock down and help them settle into new environment if that is the case. Next stage would be to create bags for adults who have fled their home for any reason be it Domestic abuse, Domestic Violence or Coercive Control or simply they are homeless.

You can find this blog on the following link https://rhiannonswish.wordpress.com it is a new project which I will be focusing a lot of attention as well as money to. I am on benefits right now but I am hoping to come of them soon enough the DWP (Department for work and pensions) Decided I am not fit enough for proper work but this does not mean I can not help others even if I only get 220.00 every two weeks and left with little by the time my bills are paid and my debts as well as food is brought. Helping others gives me a good feeling in a way it makes me happy to helps me be that little more positive about myself especially in my darker days.

I am currently seen as being extremely vulnerable to this Covid-19 pneumonia virus that is killing thousands around the world on a daily basis. My deepest sympathies go out to every single person who has lost someone due to it. Whilst my deepest gratitude goes out to everyone working on the front line trying to keep us safe. I have heard some people saying nasty things about our prime minister here in the UK and the president in the USA. Sure they might have acted late but until the world health organisation declared it a global pandemic there wasn’t much they could do. In fact the simple fact that they didn’t know what it was meant they didn’t know how to fight it and didn’t know what steps to put in place to slow the spread of it. Another good point to point out is that some people don’t even show symptoms therefore dont know they have the virus but are spreading it.

I personally in my 40 years have never heard of a virus that does not show symptoms in every one who has said virus. But this one some do not show the symptoms such as Idris Elba (English actor). While I am shielding I decided to try and help as much as I can there is a charity called The Betty Ennis Foundation which is feeding a vast amount of people in Coventry, United Kingdom. Who I donate to on a regular basis as well as donating food to the food bank but I wanted to go a step further so I’ve set up the Rhiannon’s Wish.

As well as this I will be focusing on my books and completing them ready to be sent to an editor. Once published 50% of my profits would go to Rhiannon’s wish while the rest would be used for my other books and daily essential items.

Thank you for reading.

Please abide by the rules. (COVID-19)

Hello every one on my list

Well there’s no point explaining to you who I am you already know who I am and whats happened to me over the years. You may have read some of my work in the past or on my page and many of you I met through writing and when I was running the promotion page on here for books. Sure my grammar isn’t very good on this but I am trying to write what I think you should know in this open letter. First I want to say thank you to Pam and Charlotte as well as David and Paul who have all helped me over the past few weeks.

Any way I wanted to say a big THANK YOU and explain that I felt I needed to write this so every one has a good understanding on things. Yes I do like the odd conspiracy theory but I do not believe that this virus is a false flag operation or an effect of 5G masts. Sure some conspiracy theories over the years have mentioned things like cancer being caused by phone masts and smart meters which from what I know is possible. As many have said over the past few weeks in different groups and the fact 5G masts are being burned down is stupid. I know that with any new tech there’s always been the theories they will do harm, I remember reading in the NEXUS magazine many years ago about the ill effects of phone masts and smart meters. Personally I will keep my theories between me and my best friend who dare I say it is sceptical of my ideology. (prime example of misunderstanding about tech is the industrial revolution and how we reacted back then).

Another thing I want everyone on my list to know is yes I am ill I have COPD/Asthma and have to take daily inhalers at a very high dose and need to keep steroids in and antibiotics, antidepressants. Not that I want to be stuck inside all day every day now the nights are longer and the nice weather is here I find that I want to go for a walk and was doing that before the virus hit. I was also attending Pulmonary Rehabilitation at the Atrium and enjoying it a lot learning to work out safely building up my muscle strength and having a laugh with the team. Sure the physiotherapist can be a slave driver but I liked that and the fact she wasn’t scared to tell me off. I miss the voluntary work I was doing at CIAS and the people there..

I might have conditions that make me weaker in some ways but I am certainly not stupid or lazy like some people in Willenhall have said. Not to long ago I set up a walking group sure it didn’t take off but I made my first friends through it so will never forget that people like John have moved on but he showed me when we bumped into each other he is happy to stop and say hello. That was a good feeling to know some one would stop and talk to me in the streets.

I know I am supposed to be in 100 percent isolation for three months not seeing any ones face and not going out at all. But the truth is that’s very hard to do, we all crave and need human company even if it is a quick hello or a small conversation it helps our mental well being as well. But I have the choice I can either go out and really risk coming into contact with an idiot who has gone out and picked up the virus who then passes it to me so I end up in ICU. Or I abide by the rules put to me, so I have opted to abide to the rules and stay in lucky for me asda has made contact and I am priority for delivery. Which makes my life right now a little easier than it was before and I don’t need to ask people to do my shopping for me.

What I want to say to every one is stick to the rules, I know it feels like your in some sort of prison or you have been grounded.. I can even understand how the way some of the police are acting feels like we live in more of a police state trust me I know how many feel. But we have to stick together and help each other out, what if you go out and catch the virus but don’t show symptoms and you pass it to a loved one or your child? What happens then the youngest victim of this dreadful virus is five years old I am a parent myself and cant even begin to understand how the parents feel right now. This virus is very strange given the fact many might not display the signs I know Idris Elba is one of those who have it but not displaying symptoms of it..

I am stuck in a little flat, with my daughter miles from me along with my family and until recently had little to no contact with her. Yesterday she downloaded skype so I can see her and talk to her which helps to lift my mood given the fact I should be having her right now. I even saw my mom and step dad so that was good it helps a lot and keeps me going in one way. Even a quick inbox helps and keeping in my head this will blow over one day and I will be out walking about if not this summer but next.

Please just remember this has already killed thousands of people world wide, some might have to work with in situations/environments where they are more prone to getting the infection. Thank you to all the key workers, thank you to all the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, shop workers, every single volunteer and food banks, police who are trying to keep everyone safe. Just think is what you want to do worth the risk? Do you have any one at home who has or had cancer their immunity to any virus is weak please don’t risk it, Do you have any one who is old? Again this virus as with the flu could be deadly. Do you have relatives who have transplanted organs hence on immune-suppressants which knock out the immunity? This virus like all other virus’s can kill them. Is there any one with severe respiratory conditions? Again it can kill them!!

I do understand to many this feels like some sort of dystopian society, but the governments have assured us it would be over eventually. It can get worse if people do not tow the line and behave they can ban exercise that people are allowed and confine you all to your flat. That is something I wouldn’t like for any one trust me being stuck in is not a pleasant experience especially when you’re on your own.

Why would you risk the lives of your family and friends for a bbq or a party? If you have children you are risking them for what reason? A five year old died due to it with no under lying health conditions, a 16 year old has died due to covid-19 again she was healthy. Who knows it could be your child or mom/ dad, aunt uncle, brother sister, or you I understand you want fun you want to enjoy your youth or the nice weather but is the risk worth it? But be wise about it if you come down with it and get rushed into hospital they might not be the ventilators required to help you breath, the doctors might have to turn you away not because they want to but there’s no other option. Hospitals world wide are fully booked up to the max and beyond. Every one the council and emergency services are working full pelt to keep us safe. Every parent wants to be their child’s hero well this is your chance to be just that by showing them how to act in a crisis like this.

Rest in Peace Aimee a hero, a nurse who contracted COVID-19 while she was working trying to save someones life. She will never be forgotten by any of her school friends and work colleagues . Please to all on my list stay in and stay safe.

Thank you to all the key workers for everything you do.

The time is always right to do what is right!!!!

God bless you all.

A personal blog

I grew up comparing my family to another. My area of town to another.  I was considered to live in the golden posh end of town and the other end was the rough end.

When deep down I didn’t care that my friends in the rough end was worse off. Didn’t have computers or TV in their rooms, no firmal rules for dinner times or routines.

In fact looking back on it they had things I didn’t, rules more relaxed but family who didn’t rey on belts or slippers  for punishment still we became friends. Sure it was frowned on by where ok lived but I didn’t care. Because we’re all human.

Since my childhood I’ve learnt many lessons the hardest way  i could. Now I have nothing no longer talking to the same friends.

I would always bend over backwards to make sure someone was ok. After all I was brought up in single parent family from the age of three till 11. Where I was taught by church and nan to help those in need, and stand up to let .An old person who needed a chair on the bus or crossing the road. Now I’m I’ll possibly no chance of work . But I can still help charities.

2020 won’t be any difference I’ve selected this year to be the make or break year for me

Boxing day

Traditionally in England they celebrate boxing day which is on the 26th December.

A time where servants were permitted to celebrate often having time off work.

As they worked Christmas day keeping the house and their masters fed.

They would celebrate the birth of Christ and be handed presents often in boxes by their employers.

Another traditional matter is fox hunting with hounds but this is banned now but the hunt remains.

Perhaps it was a time the poor box was opened in church and given to the poor.

But what ever the history today it’s a time to eat the left over food and drink.

I hope where ever you are that you’ll enjoy your time today. I know if I’m well enough I will be giving food and drink to the homeless.

Thank you to those who serve’s and protects us.

I know it is only the second of December 2019, but the closer we get to Christmas I find I’m thinking more about those who won’t be here for Christmas. For the first time I’m sitting to watch more and more Christmas films on television, this is something I’ve not done in many years.

I know this year I have had a run of bad luck in my health which has knocked me back but I’m looking forward to next year when I will do better things with my time.    But still this time of year reminds me of friends and family who helped me grow in more ways than I thought possible.  I just wanted to say thank you to people I think don’t hear it enough.

I have friends who served in the military over years.  I’ve felt the sense of absence during the Christmas period of a loved one. Who was away fighting during this time of year. I do support the servicemen and women who risk their lives to keep us safe so THANK YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I would also like to thank the emergency services for the work they do this is every single service around the world.  Especially the police service and fire service who put their lives in danger around the world, especially in America.  It is too easy to think they are our heroes but totally forget that they may suffer mental ill health during their working life.   THANK YOU VERY MUCH,  MERRY CHRISTMAS.

My thoughts also go to the medical staff around the world who will work long hours and rarely get any gratitude for the work they do all year round. Especially during the festive period.  Thank you for your hard work and dedication to everyone who needs your help and MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I would like to spare a thought for those who are lonely this year and the homeless.  The men and women in hostels, hotels and hospitals, living rough on the streets.  It was only last year I was in a refuge because of fleeing a destructive toxic relationship.  I didn’t have a tree and no idea where the presents was coming from.but Thank you to some kind strangers I got some presents for my child so they saved Christmas. That something I will never forget, I would like to say thank you to everyone.

While I admit there’s some bad people even within the forces I have to state there’s  more honourable good people with in the services.

Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone who has even taken the time to read one of my blogs and a special thank you for every single one of my awesome followers.

I hope you all have a good festive season but an even better new year GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
